Many are surprised to learn the investment required to own one of these exceptional little fur balls. While they may be small in size, the time, care, genetics, and resources dedicated to raising them are significant. Additionally, cattle prices are currently at historic highs, which is reflected in today’s market
We have invested extensively in the quality, health, temperament, and genetics of our herd. Some of our calves are produced through carefully selected A.I. — Artificial Insemination — pairings, while others are sired by our own proven bulls.
Each calf is raised on its mother until approximately 4–5 months of age. Prior to leaving our farm, calves are weaned, halter-broke, vet-checked, ear-tagged, and well-socialized through consistent daily handling.
Depending on the dam and sire, genetic testing may also be completed to determine whether a calf is Chondro Positive or Chondro Negative.
Chondro Positive calves carry the Chondrodysplasia gene, a form of genetic dwarfism commonly found in miniature Highland breeds. Due to their smaller stature, rarity, and demand, Chondro Positive and micro calves are priced significantly higher.
